Hey I understand. But there are a lot of jobs you can do from home sitting on your desk. Telemarketing, data entry, I’m sure if you look at some companies, you can find. You can also sew from home and sell a lot of stuff online. I just think if you don’t like your current state, you should do something about it. Unfortunately I lost my job recently and I haven’t set at home in a long time since I had a relapse so I just get miserable.
I spend my time at the company trying to understand how normal people lead their life’s and do like them. One once said, you are either something, half a thing, or nothing, you are something if you have a brain and use it, half a thing, if you don’t have a brain and try to learn from others, nothing, if you don’t have a brain and don’t want to learn from others.
I don’t work because I live at an assisted living center for the mentally ill. We go to day treatment 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. I really admire your fortitude. I have agoraphobia too, and I know how difficult it can be to force yourself to get out the door and down the street to apply for jobs. They have books that coach you on finding a job. They tell you how to cover up gaps in your work history and things like that. Courage isn’t the absence of fear. It is overcoming the fear you do have. You have a lot of courage to do what you are doing.
@odiledecaray I am one of the ones who “can’t work” I tried unsuccessfully many times to return to my career as an architect and it only left me suicidal afterwards when I failed. that really sucks your family is pressuring you. that must be really hard. what about living with your grandfather? or your parents? I bet you get your disability on next repeal.
Well, of course you would have thought of it on your own already
That’s too bad that it didn’t work out; I joke a lot about quitting my job and just making baskets or something. But of course it’s never that simple.
I read an article recently about how the relapse rate for sz is monumentally higher in industrialized nations compared to developing ones, something like 80% to 10%, and they thought part of the reason why was the lack of soothing, quiet handicraft jobs that a person could support themselves doing. Making a living in the industrialized world is so stressful, and stress is so toxic. It’s almost a trap.
