but my mom is usually my rock.
and I like to think I got that from her

I am a lot like both of my parents.

Mother: gentle and peaceful

Dad: can be helpful but do not piss me off

My dad was an emotionally abusive alcoholic so I pray I’m nothing like him. My mom is a caring emotionally supportive former educator so I hope I have a little bit of her character in me.

I am alot like my dad, physically and mentally.
I have my mother’s mood swings, but my dad’s temperament and overall disposition.

Someone once said interacting with one of us made them want to shake us to make us stop being so damn docile.

Daze, a lot family members of drinkers go through a lot of pain, please don’t belittle people for expressing that pain.

They watch the drinker get drunk day after day, watch their moods change for the worse, watch them stop taking care of themselves.
Some drunks get angry or violent. Spend more money than the family can afford.

I had to watch my uncle drink himself into liver failure while pushing away everyone who tried to help him or adress his problems.
He chose the booze over his wife, over his kids, over his grandkids. It does a lot of damage to a family.
