I had but don’t have anymore this delusion where I thought people and or people in cars would act invasive towards me.
The meds helped me out with this.
i agree people with cars can be rude and spoiled
No but i know how that feels
If you thought they would go out of your way to get you, if that’s what you mean by invasive then sure that it is a delusion. It was probably based on the psychology that people including when you rode in one thought they were in a virtual tank. That you could be impervious to others and that your whole world was isolated and impenetrable to all outsiders. I guess it is all the metal and the enclosed environment that gives this illusion.
Taking it to paranoid depths is the illness, but the notion of people in their virtual tanks is probably the basis for it…
Yes I undestand
I often have this strong ‘feeling’ but I know that it isn’t true.
Ya this feeling I had was triggered by visual stimuli of like cringed up expressions
I am increasingly becoming more frightened to drive on the roads today.
Drivers are becoming more aggressive.
I got rammed in the backside by a giant SUV recently.
It shook me up pretty good.
my house is on a somewhat busy road. when i walk out to go to my car, i feel like the center of attention to the drivers passing by. They should be aware of me but how i feel is over the top.
What do you mean by this? Can you elaborate ?
I often think other drivers are angry but not that they’re acting it out unless they’re tailgating me. Sometimes even their front grills and headlight formations in the rear-view mirror look angry…
Same, I feel as if they are staring only at me…
eerie feeling of being watched deeper than just the surface. makes me be weary of how i act as i walk to my car like every step is weighted. Just moved to my summer home again, same feeling as last year. Only difference is that this year ill address it with my psychologist.
That could be OCD it could be paranoia it could be anxiety.
If you think you look strange and people are looking at tu it’s OCD. If you’re downright terrified then that’s paranoia and it’s a totally different thing altogether
its pretty much all of them. the worst part of my day. so far ive been just trying to have a positive thought in my head. its a should walk so thinking about what im looking forward to helps.
. It is similar to hiding behind your keyboard and harassing people online. Some people hide behind their car and are aggressive on the road. People constantly tailgate me. If I even tapped my breaks they would run right into me. People cut you off, won’t let you in, tailgate you, force you to speed so they can speed. People are just aggressive drivers. I sometimes feel like it is specific to me because I believe my life is a reality show, but I think people would drive like that anyway. It’s how people are.
This is the reason I don’t drive. I’m also afraid every time I hear a car, like whoever it is is about to run over me.
Just like a lot of delusions, this has a bit of reality in it. I don’t mean to encourage delusions or advocate bad behaviour or paranoia but there are some people out there who use cars and anonymity to intimidate or bully other people. Especially if that person in the car sees someone who may not be fully aware of their surroundings or looks different or is dressed differently. I’m not saying it happens all the time, but it happens sometimes. What’s infuriating to me is when some guy in a car intimidates me and I get mad, and then the guy in the car following him sees I’m mad and joins in with the first guy. This may be paranoia but then again, it happens. The “pack” mentality.
