Do you think dreams mean something?

I posted a while back about a dream I had, and I’ve been putting some thought into it. I’ve been having a lot of dreams lately because of this med, but the very first dream I had on it was about a demon who was chasing me and chasing me and at the end of it, I accepted it and let him take me. and I can’t help but believe it was some symbolic dream for schizophrenia.

ABSOFREAKINGLUTELY!!!

Well …within reason.

I think dreams are reflections of issues a person faces in his or her waking life. These reflections make some of our unconscious fears and other emotions more apparent to us. I have a lot of dreams with tornadoes in them. I think these tornadoes represent intractable problems I face in my everyday life that I find threatening and scary. There is usually some availability of shelter from these tornadoes, but I’m never sure if it is good enough to protect me from the tornadoes. I used to have dreams with snakes in them, but I have been having those less and less.

It means… YOU’RE ASLEEP!

No, now more seriously, I think that dreams, images and such are ways our mind has to symbolize some unresolved conflict in the psyche. Now, do I believe our interpretations of it are in any way accurate? I think they can be aproximations, but honestly it’s more like you’re having a conversation with someone who does not speak the same language as you, you can take hints of what your mind is trying to say to you, but you can never really be a native speaker, so better just learn the key words that let you navigate through the bigger picture of your goals and don’t waste your time interpreting everything that your psyche shows you. Just let it pass…

Dreams speak in code, rarely is anything literal. Things have symbolic meaning and can be interpreted as needed.

That said, I’ve had a few dreams where I’ve been haunted for days, and in time, proved true.
At the time, they were pretty out there as far as believe-ability and I could not for the life of me figure out how it would play out, but they were the reason I stood my ground when no one else believed in me.

Reminds me of my old bee dream. I dreamt that there was a massive swarm of bees chasing me down a long hall, I ran and ran until I found an open door of what turned out to be a closet and let the beez buzz past. When I awoke I found that the bumble bees had awoken from their hibernation that very morning, as in yesterday, no bumble bees, today all over the place.

I’ve never had a dream while asleep that I can remember, but I have vision dreams while awake and yes, they always have meant something. Maybe not right then, but I eventually figure out what it was about.

I had a dream with a tornado in it last night. Again, there was the issue of shelter in it, and if that shelter was good enough to protect me.

Sounds to me like you are worried about something affecting your life, not necessarily you but in general. Shelter in the world immediately around you.

It’s our minds that give meaning to things. Dreams will only have the meaning you attribute to them.

Dreams have no meaning. Dream analysis is a sham.

what does a wet dream mean?

A nocturnal emission or wet dream is a spontaneous orgasm during sleep that includes ejaculation for a male, or vaginal wetness or an orgasm (or both) for a female. Nocturnal emissions are most common during adolescence and early young adult years, but they may happen any time after puberty.
