Do you make fun of people?

It’s funny. Maybe I should speak for myself, I’m not sure. But don’t we ALL make fun of people like George Bush or Tom Cruise or evangelists? Who can really say that they haven’t laughed at some celebrity or other public figure? Even if it’s innocent like making fun of Bush for supposedly being not that intelligence. Or if some movie star if horrible in a movie that flops? Haven’t we all laughed at someone on a talk show who looks bad? Or made fun of the way some star is dressed or made fun of by laughing when some celebrity says something stupid? Or made some disparaging comments about some musician we don’t like. Even if we think it’s innocent. We may never do this in real life to people we know or hang around with but I’m sure we have all put down some public figure. I mean what about schadenfreude?

It’s all about aiming the pointing finger away from yourself. In some way, people gain something from listening to standup comics. Humor - what is it anyway?

I would never intentionally try and hurt someone’s feelings, or say something mean to someone’s face no matter what the situation is, be it me solo or in a group. I refuse to participate in a bunch of people picking on one person as well.
But, I could spend hours and hours people watching, and if with someone, I can’t help discretely giving my opinion on those who stick out like a sore thumb. The wilder and weirder the better.
