I like my little town…everything you need in a population of about 40,000. mostly rural…the town has a theater. a toy and action figure museum, lots of good food in restaurants…lost our italian restauant a few years ago…so sad…but i love my small town…it’s not too big…I used to live in Phoenix, a suburb called goodyear. it was pleasant but way too many ppl…do you like the city or town you live in?
Mine is pretty good. Its good enough here.
My city has a population of a little over 100,000, but its part of the Quad cities which has a population of a little over 380,000.
I can’t stand it. I tried so hard to get away from here and now I’m back here. Like a prisoner.
Right now, no. A few years ago I moved to a small rural town and I hate it. I miss the city so much.
There are less than 6000 people in the town I live in. We are on the coast of Ireland so we have a nice beach and nice scenery, so I quite like it.
I like my city but it sucks in the winter.
Not at all.
I live in a university town, where the academic side and the students act stuck up for the most part. The medical center side is better, but of course, then you deal with overworked doctors who can be impatient.
The only reason I moved here is because it’s an hour from a yoga ashram I was involved with for 17 years, but I have been broken from that group since 2012. But now my husband’s career and retirement path are here. I am only 2 1/2 hours from my mom and sister, so we just stay put until retirement.
I like it but as previous poster said winter is complete garbage
I’m still in the neighborhood that I’ve been in all my life. I have many good memories here. The neighbors mind their own business. If we ever get the power back up system for the house I’ll even feel better here.
I also got to experience another neighborhood in our vacation home in Florida. Neighbors were much more outgoing there and inviting into the homes for dinner and such. It’s different but they don’t mind their own business there. Plus there’s a bike track 10 minutes from the house that I loved going to.And also the house had a heated swimming pool.
Took the words right out of my mouth I was gonna say that lol I wish I lived in Florida
I like it. It’s a suburb of Detroit. It was on a rural route for the US postal service when we moved there in 2010. A year or two later it was off the list for the post office’s rural route.
There’s remnants of the country there. There’s a horse farm a mile away and a working farm a couple hundred yards away.
A woman who has lived for 50 years in another Detroit suburb said it was like this there over 30 years ago. She said, “and then the city came. The horse farm won’t last.”
I’m enjoying it as it is.
Also, there’s a lot of lakes in and around our suburb. We even became boaters living there. Fun.
Not really. I plan to move when I get more stable
No not very much.
They kinda bully me here with hostile vibes and think they are superior upper class and I’m lower class trash .
They disrespect me and walk all over me.
I don’t feel good about most of the nature either.
Not keen on public trees most of em but do love some privately owned trees.
I’m sick of getting bullied and disrespected and my “family” are part of it and probably to blame for it.
I can’t afford to buy or rent but possibly government housing.
They are definitely not superior.
Their behaviour they have had for years shows me what type of people they really are .
It’s close to shops etc and a minority are nice but mostly the way I d been treated is disgusting and unacceptable.
I hate it here.
Lotsa crime and psychopaths ----- nobody’s word is good for anything.
People continuously screw other people over.
There’s lots of witchcraft.
Crimes, gangs, large amounts of homeless people, drugs, rent recently went up, many ghettos
I used to go on drives after work and at night I can count out literally 15+ prostitutes on a certain stretch of road
Scenery is beautiful but I guess that’s all I can say
Personally if I was not stuck here and tied down I would move to my childhood town or somewhere I can get a fresh start
When people ask if I’m from here I just tell them ‘no I’m from where I spent my childhood’
I like my city a lot. It’s a good family town, but there’s also a lot to do if you’re single. We have a great community college and an amazing library system. All the librarians are very nice too and they help out a lot of our homeless community here as far as finding resources for them.
@Cloudd3ad What you described sounds exactly like KCMO.
It’s okay. It’s the same town I lived in as a teenager, went to high school here. Small town surrounded by rural areas, but I prefer that over big cities. I’ve lived in Philly and Baltimore, but I would rather live in a small town.
My town has 110,000 people.
Tend to keep to myself, but it all seems ok.
Have lived here since I was 5 years old
But always lived in the same area
My village has like 200 people lol
The town we now live in has a population of about 35,000…
The town we lived in on the west coast only had a population of about 2,000 lol…
This new place has got much better restaurant choices, which is great!
Also this town has actual shopping stores…
I do still miss the PNW, just cause it’s so beautiful out there… and my parents and other family members…
But it’s “okay” out here I guess
I live in the woods. I used to live in a mobile home park. I liked it there
