Do you like saunas?

We here have more saunas than any place around the world. I think that it is a relaxing experience. And after being in a sauna jumping to the snow is another experience  .

Yes. A lot. But I haven’t been for ages. I used to go with my study friends a lot.

I’ve become a bit more prudish. Our saunas (probably like yours?) are mostly mixed and nude. Maybe I’ll inquire about their lady days.

I would rather be naked in the ice and snow.

No, I’m not joking. I hate heat; I hate humidity.

You can have the snow. I’m the exact opposite. I will have the heat. I hate all the cooling down stuff, and would rather skip it, to sit nice and warm in the sauna and bubble bath.

It’s humid here today. Please take it. I’m dying.

I love the smell of a sauna— it’s like a dry wood smell. Almost vanillaish and cedar. Very nice smell.

Saunas themselves are alright. I never understood their huge appeal in other countries, but I’m probably not doing it right

Sounds like a nightmare to me.

Haha really? In what country are you, if I may ask?

Here, it is cold. We have random bouts of rain all week. Specifically if we just decided to go for a long walk, and are at the furthest point from home. Rain here does that.

I have an infrared sauna in my home

I love saunas for their effect on the skin but I got to admit, after 15 minutes it gets hard to breathe.

Does not aps cause heat sensitivity lol

Northeast US. But not north enough for my tastes. Hubby wants to go to Arizona when he retires, but I’m making plans for Maine. Muahaha!

It looks like I’d melt in there. I won’t even get in a hot tub. Funny, though- if you get in a pool in Texas, it is warm. If you get in the pool here, it is ALWAYS freezing. I said something about cold pools one day to a lady, and she laughed and said something like, “Of course they’re cold! Did you expect a pool to be warm?” And she was serious. I said, “Ma’am, in the south, they are warm.” She looked so surprised, like she wasn’t sure if I was joking or not. I was equally surprised that someone would think all pools everywhere are cold.

Hahaha oh no! But who is going to do your dishes, then? :stuck_out_tongue:

I got free saunas and steam baths when i worked at a hot tub joint in the 1980’s. I used to take a sauna at lunchtime and smoke pot in it, lol. I’m with @Zoe, it’s hard to breathe in those things, I like steam baths and hot tubs better and I like taking them by myself. I never liked the cold plunges either.

I liked one rural sauna experience years ago. It was a special sauna building and it was heated with wood. It was nice and warm, I got that old sauna experience because this sauna was built probably 50 years ago. It was nice to listen radio and then have a cool drink after being in the sauna.

I quite like the cold shower after. It’s refreshing.

And re closing all my pores. So dirt doesn’t get in.
