Do you have friends who are normies, or friends who have MH problems?

I am going to ask my psych about getting a case manager and doing day treatment so I can socialize with people like me again (MH problems). I used to do this previously, so hopefully no issue.

I’m coming off another failed attempt at socializing with normies. And I feel like a failure for it for sure. It doesn’t feel good.

Yes to both. The friends I have with SZ are a small subset, I have more with autism, and the majority are neurotypicals. No BPD, though. I’m not compatible with that shxx AT ALL.

I have a little bit of both. My mentally healthy friends are very supportive and good people but I feel like I vibe better with my MI or diagnosed friends.

I have three “friends”. One is my S.O. and she is sza. I’m very close to her. The other two are normies and they both treat me like I’m some kind of charity case friend and rarely call me back when I call them. Unfortunately my family members are the same way.

When it comes to irl friends, I pretty much have two: a man with schizoaffective disorder and a woman who is mentally healthy.

I have friends that are not mentally ill and I love their enthusiasm for me and life. Their sense of humor and energy is amazing. Their comfort in difficult situations is a dream come true. These friends are mostly my family but I still have some from meeting through my hobbies.

No to both. I have my family here in Wiltshire. That’s it.I haven’t seen my brother, sister, and nieces, since before moving here 8 years ago this month. I’ve had one attempt at socialising since moving here. Like previous attempts it was a failure. The truth is I don’t know how to make friends.

Even if I felt psychologically well enough to try again; there’s the mobility issue that serves as a barrier to doing so.

@anon82948922 I can’t tell are you accusing me of being something the BPD? I don’t understand.

Or poking fun at me somehow? I don’t mind I just don’t understand.

Did I do or say anything wrong to you or anyone here? Please let me know. I’m sorry and would like to make this right. @ moderators ,.for help so I don’t do anything wrong again

I have no friends who are sz. I wish I had.

I love my friends and they do have some sort of mental issues, but I am the “craziest”.

Yeah I learned the hard way
Was married to someone with BPD (borderline)
Unless you meant bipolar

Not accusing you. Just saying that some types of MI are accompanied by a type of chaos I am ill-suited to dealing with as an autistic.

I have no friends.. Not normies neither ill.

The reason is I blocked some on phone or they blocked me.Its because they had no insight.

One was crypto maniac, another was religious fanatic… Begin to realise with all things that I do is answering the calls up to ten times a day, listening how life is hard ..

I have a friend with BPD, one with Bipolar, one that’s clearly mentally ill without a diagnosis or treatment, and a couple Neuro typical friends.

The BPD friend used to be my best friend but I asked for a break from each other which lasted over a year. It hasn’t been the same since but I’m ok with that. It was too stressful the old way.

I’ve been there @Rainstorm . It was very painful. So I made a point to join things and do things around people and forced myself to engage in conversation until I made a friend.
