Do you have a side hustle?

I need to make an extra couple hundred a month to get by and smoke as much as i do (which i will cut by half if i must). So there are sites like iwriter where you can make $2-$7 on average for a 500-1000 word article. Has anyone done this?

If not are there any side hustles you do to make some money ontop of disability?

I was spending the equivalent of $300 a month on cigarettes. Now that I vape I spend about $30 a month !

I thought about repairing hoovers or being a guitar tech for a little while when I was thinking the same thing. Never did it though. Get creative!

Those are cool ideas for making some extra moneys! Creativity i definitely lack though, only thing i can come up with is pc repair. Creative version: pc repair with a free birthday cake with every repair…! (Yes i will think on it some more).

Those cheap writer sites are awful. Before I began pitching to magazines and self publishing I used all the old writer mills. They expect a lot of work for a pittance. They take advantage of people. I wouldn’t send an enemy to them. Maybe.

Thank you for the heads up! Ill look into other options. Ive only written a few articles for them, so no loss i guess. Off topic, but do you have any advise for coming up with articles that sell? I have good writing skills when i try but I seriously think i may lack the creative mind to come up with ideas, so idk if im cut out for the trade of writing.

There’s always freelancer.com and fiver.com

I bank an extra couple hundred every month because I don’t smoke so that’s my side hustle. And I don’t drink so that’s prob another 300 dollar side hustle. And I don’t smoke pot so that’s prob another 200 dollar side hustle.

The side hustles continue… :see_no_evil::blush:

Make sure to tailor your idea to the outlet. There’s a way to slant almost anything. Read and research the stuff each site or magazine publishes. I used to go to this forum called Absolute Write Water Cooler, but I think it closed.

Waitit is still there! I learned so much there starting out in the early 00s.

Look for the freelance writing area. The people used to be great. I am still friends 15 years after meeting people there!

I have a friend on disability who has 3 cash jobs: childcare, landscaping, and cleaning houses. I don’t think she needs disability but that’s what she does for extra money
