My mom did some research over ten years ago and got me a GP doctor. It’s convenient and they are really nice! Everyone should have one!
Yeah I have one he’s cool.
Yeah, but she’s not very good. South African expat. It’s hard to find family doctors and I guess I’m lucky to have her. Lots of people without these days here.
oh yes, I see the gp every six months.
i got one who has known me since i a was a kid. She is really great and helps me with a lot. I see her every 2 weeks when she comes to give me my depot injection.
I have a GP but it’s been 3 years since I’ve seen him. I only have mental issues. My physical health is alright and I don’t get a jab.
I changed my GP maybe 6 months ago. My new GP listens to me more than the previous one.
yes. i have one. went nearly all my life without one but now i’m prediabetic and overweight.
I have a gp. She listens to me more than my previous gp. But appointments are always a little awkward because her social skills are a little off. She’s a very nice person though.
Unlike my last gp that blamed every single problem I had on my weight😒
Maybe our system is different.
Everyone is obliged to have health insurance, unless you officially declare it is against your conscience or religion. And hardly anyone knows that is even possible. I pay around 200 euro a month.
Everyone has a GP. You need a GP. I can’t go to my psychiatrist or gynaecologist, or other medical specialists, without her referral. And if I want my insurance to pay, I also need her referral for a nutritionist/psychologist/acupuncturist/whatever.
She is empathic and kind and listens. I like her.
I have a primary care physician that I see every six months. He’s very good.
@Quehead, but…without a GP…can you get psychiatric care? Or medication? Or go to a hospital?
You can’t see a specialist without a referral from another doctor here in my province in Canada. I’m uncertain how the other provinces work. We have a critical shortage of GPs right now:
I know of people who have been without one for years as doctors have stopped taking on new patients. These folks are left trying to get into walk-in clinics (they now have large line-ups hours before opening) or going to emergency services for help.
Yes, I have one. Going to see her Wednesday as a matter of fact. General diabetes check up but going to discuss my off and on joint pain as well. It’s not bothering me today btw. Dunno whats changed.
Yes I have a GP doctor
I have one.
I have to go there constantly, between my weekly bloodwork for Clozaril, and my once a month checkups/clearance for ECT.
All they care about is that I’m overweight. And they are not very supportive of the ECT.
Not a fan, but it’s fine.
Yes, but she’s not very good. Her idea is to spend the least amount of time possible with me and to get me out of there with minimal talking, questions are discouraged and appointments are 4 or 5 months apart. I could understand it a little if the place was always packed with people but no matter what time of day I go there is usually only one or two people in the waiting room on the whole floor.
I the uk we have to go through gps before we get referrals to specialists
That is sad. Mine is the exact opposite.
I always need to wait, because her practice is always fully booked, and she always takes so much extra time carefully listening to people, that she messes up her schedule. So she is never in time, because she was still listening to whomever was before me.
I have no problem waiting, because I know she will listen to me if needed. Whether my time is up or not.
I have a primary care physician. She’s also my rheumatologist.
