Do you have a cell phone? How much are they ripping you off for?

We just moved and didn’t have land based internet so guess what? Now I’m looking at a $1200 cell phone bill… Mostly data charges. Yikes! Post your story.

Holy hell man. If you’re rural, at least look into Xplornet. Better than nothing.

I’m paying $220/mth for family of three, three phones. Barely use mine.

30 for unlimited calls, texts, and internet

90 dollars a month. Part of it is paying the phone off, it should shrink to 78 in a month or two.

Prepaid (aka Pay As You Go)

$10/month = 50 minutes & 50 Text Messages
$10/month = 100MB
$20/month = Total monthly bill

I payed for my phone outright.

Almost $60 per month for service and my phone.

Who is your carrier? Available in Canada?

Telus. Rogers has the same offerings. Same can be said of Public Mobile.

I pay about 21usd/16gbp pm for unlimited calls, texts and 8 gig of data. I bought my phone sim free for 350 pounds.

I’m such a loser. I’m being totally ripped off by Bell in Canada.

Living in rural areas must have it hard to use data unlike that of urban areas. Network coverage is key here.

These latest charges occurred in Richmond, BC, a major urban area.

I pay £55 a month for unlimited texts and calls and 4GB of data.

I have Verizon which is the best in my opinion. I have unlimited data. I rarely text or talk on the phone except with my family and since it’s all in network I think it’s free. I love fast unlimited internet because i use my phone a lot. It’s expensive though. Like 90 a month I think.

Damn that’s a good deal.

Even at $230/month for 20GB, that still doesn’t explain the $1,200 bill.

Even an 80GB/month plan at $460/month doesn’t explain the high billing cost unless you bought a smartphone for $1,200.

I paid about £739 for a 128gb Pixel 3.
And then I just pay my sim monthly separately £6 (its a massively discounted deal). I get unlimited everything.
Always better to buy sim and phone separately.

So all in all it works out to be £37 a month for two years with phone and sim together.

I bought a galaxy s7 edge a few years back. I love it! Next phone when I have money will be 5g. 5g is supposed to revolutionize technology and internet…

I got a free smartphone and free monthly service. It’s part of some state program for low-income people.
