Like that one scene from “silver linings playbook” where he freaks out in the waiting room at his psychiatrists. A song that brings back intense emotion. I have a couple. One is about as niche a song as you can find so I don’t have to worry about hearing it. The other is “Fix you” by Coldplay.
I remember being in the art room in the psych ward by myself in 1989 and listening to “Sympathy For the Devil” by The Rolling Stones over and over again. Every time I hear that song now it reminds me of being in the psych ward.
When I was first really unwell I found it too difficult to listen to my favourite band because it brought on too much emotion for me and was too intense. I also remember being sick after listening to a song about betrayal by the Beatles (Sexy Sadie) as it fed into a delusional thought I had.
Thankfully when I got a bit better it stopped.
Back in 2010 I had a depression and was listening to Neil Young instantly (Harvest Moon)… Now I can’t listen to him anymore even though I think he is awesome.
It’s raining men. I used to listen to it when my son was in NICU on the way there in the car.
Brings back a lot of memories.
Christian songs are the worst!
Christian contemporary music is the worst kind of music lol
I’m making a bad song right now lol
Somehow I’m enjoying the hell out of it tho
Christmas music. I was sexually abused with it playing when I was a kid. I hear Christmas music and I remember stuff I don’t want to. It’s one of the reasons I hate that friggin’ holiday so much.
Im so sorry man.
