I would be lying if I don’t spend money on me. But I always try to get the best deal i can get on the things i want. But I feel I can justify some of my purchases, it’s not like I have a car and I dont’ even pay for public transport and most of the bills… I don’t tend to spend money on those things so i tell myself i can have that phone every year or two or even that useless thing i don’t need but want lol
Honestly it’s not justified but i have to make myself feel better for buying stuff
I haggled a lot when I was buying vegetables and fruits in the local market. The rule for haggling at the vegetable market is if you ask about the price before you buy, the vegetable dealers will willingly give a discount. Lots of my neighbours don’t ask about price. They just pick up what they like and let the vegetable dealers weigh the items and calculate how much it is.
What’s haggle? Negotiate prices?
It depends on countries. In my natal country sellers jack up prices on purpose because they know ppl will negotiate prices and if you don’t negotiate you always get fkd. In NA, prices are fix in most markets and you can’t negotiate. I use best offer on ebay when its available.
I don’t frequent places or use shops where it happens. You just buy what price is advertised. I’m sure I’d do it if it could save me a dollar. That is a no brainer but just don’t have the opportunity.
Always. Maybe not directly like when buying a TV from Wal-Mart (not that I would ever buy a TV from WM), but I will search, shop, find coupons, or directly haggle if the environment suits it (buying a car, used items, etc).
In Denmark, haggling is rude. I’ve sold a lot of things on facebook, and some people have tried getting ridiculously lower prices for things. I don’t mind knocking a few bucks off here and there, but when something is priced at 1300DKK and someone messages me and asks if they can have it for 350, I politely decline.
I find it rude. People put the prices they put for a reason, because they need the money.
Haggling is saying “I don’t respect your money, I want to be as cheap as possible”
At least in my society.
I know in other societies you have to haggle, but where I come from, there’s a fixed price and you better respect that.
When I worked at a convenience store, the customers would sometimes try to haggle. I gave them no discounts.
If you willingly go into a convenience store in broad daylight to buy your shite instead of a grocery store where the prices are much lower, you better be willing to pay what’s asked or gtfo.
Oh no! I don’t tend to haggle in department stores where prices are fixed,… me and mum do it in strores like the idian gold store. indians are known for haggling … i try to use vouchers and cashbacksites for department stores mostly…but I do haggle on somethings like my sim contract. I think that was stupid cheap. It went from £20 to £6 a month
I love to haggle. It was scary the first time I did it but now it’s second nature. I’ll haggle on eBay, flea markets, garage sales, and interpersonal sales. I won’t haggle at markets where the prices are fixed and if you do try to haggle you’ll look like the South end of a Northbound horse.
