Do you eat more candies at Christmas than usually

In the past I have had chocolates and other types of candies at Christmas, but in this year I try not to eat any candies. I like Christmas meals, but I try to avoid eating any sugar.

Good for you @mjseu.
It’s hard to avoid sweets, especially around the Holidays.

I definitely misread this as candles and thought “Okay, I thought I’d seen everything, but this is new”

lol- I saw candles too, @Ninjastar.

One year, I constantly ate mini Snickers. I’m kind of out of the candy phase, though. It’s sugar cookies that get me. We do homemade cut-out cookies, make our own icing, and decorate with sprinkles. They are just so tempting!

When My mother was younger it was her homemade cookies and as she got older it was all the candy she bought. Now that she’s gone I’m not that tempted for sweets around the holidays. Although my sister did have me buy 4 pumpkin pies from the Schwanns man for Christmas since we didn’t have them at Thanksgiving and she had a hankering so I’ll be having pie with whipped cream for breakfast and desert on Christmas.

The only real extra candy I do this time of year are Candy Cane Tootsie Pops and Terry’s chocolate oranges. No one around here has Terry’s this year, but some other brand and I’m not willing to give it a go.

In other news, I’ve threatened to buy my kids pickle flavor candy canes for their stockings. They love pickles, but threatened to shank me with them…so…lol

Pre diabetes diagnosis: A ton.
Post-diabetes: Well the sugar free gets old after a while and is hard to find and gives you diarrhea if you eat too much so not so much now.

Yes, i certainly connect xmas with candieeating. On the xmas dinners i always totally overeat. Its emotional eating. I find xmas plays with my emotions. I told myself strongly not to fall in the xmastrap. But here we go i put the xmastree up and ate 6 icecreams. (Magnum). Tomorrow i get a loan to get through Christmas in selfindulgence and gifts for everybody. It will take me 6 months to recover.

my mom usually makes these homemade chocolate turtle candies. They are so good. So I’ll fill up on those during the holiday season, among other foods

My family always has candy on the table for christmas, so a lot gets eaten. Last year I stuck mostly to mandarines and nuts, and I hope I’ll be able to this year as well

I’ve been getting some really good christmas cookies and eating all of them myself. I don’t know whats wrong with me, but they are good. I did the same thing with those easter peeps.
