Do you care about other people's opinion of you?

I’ve grown more indifferent to other’s opinion of me as I get older. I still get anxious, awkward, and sometimes paranoid around other people, so I guess it matters some to me, but at the same time I have a certain indifference too.

i have been labelled and been asked if i am going to cause harm to them or their family

so i guess i care cause im a good person who helps anyone who needs it

I care a lot about what people think and at the same time I keep talking about my mental illness on social media and internet. Go figure.

I try not to but im tempted to care ofcourse. Who doesnt want people to like them? Its easy. But doing the right thing is often tough. So people wont always like us. Its part of life. None of us is perfect. I suppose if a perfect man came to earth theyd hate him to.

I have talked a lot about my mental health on social media as well, to my own detriment. I guess part of the reason I am indifferent sometimes, is because I have already made myself a fool on social media due to my behavior while psychotic. I care a lot, but how people perceive me is out of my control now. I already feel naked to everyone lol, so I feel partly desensitized to public opinion. Mainly, I just don’t want everyone to think I wish them any harm or would harm them because of my illness.

Yes , very much so. 9 people could say I’m very intelligent but if the 10th said I was stupid. That would make me doubt the other 9.

Normally no, but there are extenuating circumstances. If I happen to really dislike someone and they also dislike me, I wear their disapproval as a badge of honour.

I don’t care as much as I used to. I used to have a lot of paranoia and delusions around what people thought of me. Not as much anymore.

I think sometimes its good to care though for our own good and to improve. My brothers sometimes tell me I look bad and disorganized, do this and that to improve your look etc

The sz made me not care about my look and my smell. I shower much less since sz.

Totally depends depends on the person if I care what they think. Random stranger on the street? Not really. A friend? I think I would care what they think of me, at least to some extent. I could probably elaborate more on which people I would and would not care what they think, but I dont wanna/too lazy :stuck_out_tongue: .

I would not want to have a bad reputation, but I would like to be free from other’s opinions as well sometimes—at least because I know people have judged me negatively in the past.

I don’t tend to care how society perceives me, but I have a deep respect for all my family and friends who think I’m a cool guy.

I get yelled at everyday. Lots of cursing and stupidity. I just go on about my business.

I really only care about the opinions of those whom I like. The social thing does make it all harder though with not being able to keep eye contact and people mind reading and all.
