The gene pool is complicated and full of variations thats what makes all our physical and mental illnesses more likely depending on what genes you inherit but it doesnt mean youll definitely get something just because of having certain genes, theres just a percentage likelihood based on your genes and environment. This is my basic level of understanding it.
So personally i dont believe Schizophrenia or any mental illness is caused by genes. Its mostly environment you grow up in and stresses and illegal substances throughout life etc. Genes just make you more susceptable to mh issues.
