As in a Declaration of Independence? I don’t think so - we’ve always been “independent”
November 5th is well-remembered across the pond.
[Verse 6]
If you ever feel so sad
And the whole world is driving you mad
Remember, remember today
Hey hey
[Chorus]
And don’t feel sorry
About the way it’s gone
Don’t you worry
About what you’ve done
[Outro]
[Remember
Remember, the Fifth of November
Maybe they had a day of independence from the Roman empire
Yes we do!
Every single calendar in the UK has the date 4th July on it
Do we celebrate it? No, of course not…
We don’t celebrate the riddance of our ungrateful colonials on account of all the wasted tea in Boston. A high crime indeed!
Where I live we celebrate:
Trevithick day - invented steam engine
Murdoch day - invented gas lighting
Saint Pirans day - honouring Saint Piran
We’re part of Britain so are ruled by the British government & monarchy.
We have the 24th August
Been celebrated since 1814
@77nick77 why would you ask such a question.? “independence day” is america free from England that day…sheesh.
What does this celebrate? I couldnt find a clear answer
I used to look forward to fireworks. Now it’s just a day of listening to random annoying explosions until late watching my dog freak out. To be honest I’m sick of America and the lifestyle. Everything is a Big Mac. Big cars, loud noise, flashy stuff, mass produced junk, dumb entertainment, go go activity, bad taste, bigger opinions.
Maybe you could celebrate it by saying you’re glad to be rid of us - saying Thank God they’re gone!
They should celebrate the birth of our great nation too especially since we fought against them to get it!!
But seriously I think they just skip from
The third to the 5th. correct me if I’m wrong tho…
