Yes, for me, but I take it well. My mom treated me like I was an adult when I was a child because she was always offended as a child by condescending people. Because of my mom I grew up to kind of like it as an adult. Sometimes it sucks though. I don’t know, why sometimes and not others?
I think my mum and some of my relatives do.
My wife will when she is making a point. Being honest, she’s probably right 95% of the time and it’s a good trick she uses to snap me back. I’m lucky to have a Jiminy Cricket. ![]()
I think so yes. My mom also treated me as an adult as a child. But i think people do like my dentist. But i cant be sure because its the only way ive been treated so idk. I just get the feeing it is. It doesnt bother me tho. Theyre just being nice.
Definitely. My friends are all being nice, but it comes off as condescending. like I do anything that a regular person does and they’re like “omg you’re so amazing and strong”. lol. I feel like a different person now because of that kind of stuff.
Yeah because they’ve dealt with me while psychotic. It’s annoying but necessary.
Yes because I live at home but take care of myself ![]()

That was certainly the during the early years of being mentally ill , when I was still living with my parents. I was treated as being much younger than I actually was. At the same my father had me handing over half of my benefit money for keep, because he said that most people my age if not in school they’d be working. Then there was my mother who’d pull the ‘I think you’re getting ill again’/'Have you taken your pills?'card, if I got at all animated about anything . Especially if I had a different opinion about something. There was a lot of ‘high expressed emotion’ going on , with my mental illness being yet another thing they’d claim to be arguing over.
i dont know.
sometimes they are just being kind. my father doesnt like my drinking. he didnt give a ■■■■ when i was underage though. my mom comes over and cleans.
thing is i am starting to feel like a child as i get older. that along with memory problems.
