Do kittens stop biting and attacking you?

This cat is constantly biting and scratching at me. He is 9 weeks old. Does he grow out of it?

They do grow out of it eventually.
Make sure you don’t use your hand as a toy so it doesn’t get the idea it’s ok to attack hands.

Usually around 16-18 weeks. It takes them a while to learn to control their claws.

A good way to help them learn not to bite and scratch is to make a whiny meow sound when they hurt you. That’s how kittens signal to each other that they’re playing too rough.

Mine is 6-7 months old and she still scratches hard when she forget herself in play. I do let her know she’s hurting me by screaming in agony :joy:

Tomorrow is our first bath, wish me luck…

I never had a pet before. I adopted her a few weeks ago and i’m still learning.

My mom made the mistake of using her foot and wiggling her toes to play with the cat when she was a kitten. The cat never went after my feet only hers.

Teach it now some good behavior. A kitten is built to play. I’d suggest a couple of interesting toys and move it away from attacking you. It’s all well and good till they grow up and then they really will hurt you!
