I don’t compete with other people. No way I’ll happily let others win. Competing for jobs and such I mean Jesus you can have it.
I agree with this outlook
They won as a group and we lost as a group quite some time back. Group meaning family. All I can think of now is spend my energy helping less fortunate or people who will accept my help to make myself feel better.
I am fortunate now because have a decent job for past 11 months which if I do well can be self sufficient. But still long way to go.
It’s not a bad way to go if your content with an easy life.
It’s not an easy life that I have in any shape or form. The impact that I may have may be less. But I should be content with that provided the difficulties I have.
Your not alone @Melomaniac we all have difficulties and many people work. Do what you can.
I am alone in terms of place where I am as I have never heard of people working and battling mental illness. It’s a huge stigma still here. I take solace that this forum exists.
I accept everyone have difficulties but can’t accept many people work having mental illness and don’t have any complaints about it. Maybe some work but not to their best. As far as I know.
I know people who work missing an arm as well as of successful people with a mental health diagnosis.
It again depends on severity and support and I don’t think count is high on that. If a person is disabled for a decade or so it’s really hard.
Those people aren’t expected to work in our world but some schizophrenics are quite capable and do well.
Just Google how many schizophrenia people are successful.
No, I can name Jack Kerouac and I personally know of another successful actor. Maybe me or you can add to the list.
According to you I am not supposed to do well as I had illness for 2 decades like multiple episodes no stable career. Thanks for your insights.
