Do any of you

Find yourself rocking back and forth? Even legs going. I hope it’s not td. I don’t do that all day long.

I always rock back and forth, I’ve never questioned it before tbh. I also always move my hands and legs and such. I wonder if it’s anxiety or a side effect from medication.

Idk I think maybe a side effect. I kinda like rocking because it eases worry.

For me it was more extreme, couldn’t sleep without moving all my 4 limbs constantly in a circular way. It was akathisia for me, changed AP and it stopped.

rocking can be a sign of high anxiety…when I was really stricken with worry about panic by myself I used to rock…not good…try to unplug the fear and panic involved in being afraid of panic and anxiety and immediately once you do that you will feel better…practice slow breathing and focus on something in your hand like a coin or rock.

Even babies no rocking as an anxiety reducer.

I don’t have anxiety tho

in my recliner, yes, but only a couple hours while watching t.v. or listening to music.

Probably better to get out of the apartment for a while.

If its bothering you and you don’t want to change APs, ask for a med for akathisia like Benzatropine.

There is also Procyclidine.

not sure if you meant that for me, yeah, it’s been sub-zero, and lots of snow, otherwise I’d walk my dog in the park.
I’ve gotten back into pacing the kitchen for awhile. hmm.

Just in general.

yeah. well, it’s always an adventure when we drive to Clinton to go to Aldi’s, get to see the countryside with all the pretty snow, and then we might stop at Dollar Tree next door.

I rock a lot too. It calms me a bit.

I get the jimmy leg sometimes.

I jiggle my right foot a lot when I need to dump stress or cope with too much input. Makes my wife nutz.

I still go to sleep moving my feet together. Have done it since I’ve been on the psych meds. When I was married I made the Mrs tuck in her side of the bed and not mine…My feet need to be free…

Curiously. Movement disorder was reported before the medications in first started in the 1950’s. We are dealing with complicated issues!

Wow, that’s interesting to hear
Didn’t know that
So schizophrenics have a tendency anyway for weird movements
The drugs can really exacerbate though
