Just wondering if anyone else does since I have a lot of noticeable symptoms dementia like.
I don’t think so. Dementia is where you lose grasp of who you are / where you are etc.
I’m starting to forget things again.
My Mom suffers with dementia and it runs in my family on both sides.
I am really fearful of getting it.
I see so much overlap in the symptoms between dementia and schizophrenia that I can’t tell. Half the time I think I have early onset, since my grandmother died of alzheimer’s.
I could see when I was really psychotic it being a bit. Not anymore though I have good awareness and memory.
I did. Used to post about it a lot. Then I talked to my pdoc and he told me that cognitive problems are a hallmark of sz/sza. Bipolar added in makes it worse.
I got on Invega 234 monthly and my second month I noticed my memory wasn’t as bad. I didn’t forget words while talkinf. Then one day I was able to read books again.
In the past, yes. I felt like I had dementia in college. Then I dropped out and a year later got diagnosed with schizophrenia. I’ve lost like 10 IQ points. My former doctor even mentioned this. She almost gave me adderall to help me but she said I became too paranoid and it would worsen my symptoms.
Very interesting. Do you think the IQ drop is temporary?
I lose a sense of where I am for half a second here and there in stressful situations (for me that’ll be the social ones). My sexual life has mostly been a sort of dementia.
I have times where I don’t know where I am or how to do things I could before. Like when I was working, I’d have times where I couldn’t figure out what I was doing or how to do my job. The next day it’d come back to me though. But it was scary to be at work and suddenly be very confused about what was going on
I scored 84% recall and 880ms response time .
I think I had a lot of false positives ie saying pictures had appeared before when they hadn’t . It wasn’t easy to remember.
I had 60% on easy. That is not good
Conclusion: Dietary niacin may protect against AD and age related cognitive decline.
I used easy too. No way could I cope with faster and harder with my slow processing speed.
I was kind of talking about dementia
in a metaphorical type of way, just the typical mind works etc
But come to think of it I’ve had severe brain damage and that may play a big role in what I’m dealing with too.
Yes.
I forget .
A lot.
My boyfriend says I always say the same things over and over again and he is always saying “you said that”.
Other things too.
I feel brain damaged too.
Specially right side of my brain.
I think Sz has more in common with Parkingsons than Dementia.
