Dna blood test for meds

A psychiatrist office says they offer this service. Basically a blood test that tells which AP would work the best for us.

Does anybody know more? Seems like if it were true it would be all over the forum too.

If you are referring to Gene Sight testing, I had this done. Yes I was sent through mail a swab kit. The results were listed by medication classes and whether or not each one could be used as prescribed, or may need to be higher or lower dose to be effective, or if it would cause bad side effects.

Interesting hrmn

I’ve been looking at online dna tests. Basically you just swab you mouth and send the sample to the lab.

They can tell you all kinds of things. There are several sites that do this. Here’s one

I personally did not find the results matched my historical experience with quite a few of the medications listed. I am leary.

I did the genetics testing through the VA and it came back showing what meds would work best for me genetically.
