Dizziness?

I’ve had hypotension because of APs. But I’m so weak ever since I got prescribed fluphenazine. I fell over a couple times today in my mom’s yard because I was bending down in the garden, holding a latter, lifting things from ground up. This used to happen when I was on thorazine. I think I’m on too high doses it’s messing with my Blood pressure. This isn’t good.

How long do you have to wait to see your pdoc?

Can anxiety make you fall to the ground, or lack of sleep?

There are a large number of things that can cause dizziness, and if that is your only symptom, other problems are more likely. Dizziness means different things to different people, do you actually see the room spinning or is it just unsteadiness or feeling faint?

Anxiety leads to the release of adrenaline which causes a fight-flight response, leading to rapid heart rate, rapid breathing and sweating. Rapid breathing causes a drop in carbon dioxide in the lungs, then blood, which leads to shifts in blood pH (hydrogen ion concentration) leading to dizziness. Another cause is adrenaline leading to narrowing of blood vessels to brain, hence less blood flow to head.

Your symptoms can be due to a multitude of medical conditions. These need to be ruled out before you assign your symptoms to anxiety or “stress.” So, it’s better if you can get this thing examined by your doctor.

The feeling of being weak started when I started my second AP, then it led to being dizzy when I would rapidly get up from a lower position. It’s the meds. It happened on thorazine 10yrs ago. Don’t mean to sound harsh but its the same thing that happened 10yrs ago. I don’t know what to do because the second AP is really improving me and I’d hate to do something about it

Do you think you’re body will adapt with time and the vertigo will go away?

I hope… It’s possible!

I hope so too. Maybe ask your pdoc how long you should wait to see if you can adjust.

Okay, I will! Thanks
