So I have very disturbing images popping up in my head every night when I try to go to sleep. I was wondering if anyone knows of anything that helps with this or if there is some way to kind of alleviate it? I’m thinking there isn’t because it’s kind of out of my control but I figured I’d ask. I’m schizoeffective btw.

What medications are you on? Sounds a serious issue and sleep is so important!

Do you get like Ocd type thoughts? is it kinda like that…I’d bring it up with your shrink…worth a shot.
I feel like it’s the voices trying to scare me. It’s grotesque and demonic looking things. Like when I’m thinking about an image when I’m trying to go to sleep like let’s say a lady perhaps, a demon looking thing will pop out of nowhere and I sometimes open up my eyes out of surprise and fear.
I get that kinda thing with ocd type thoughts but we’re a broad community. Hang in there. Someone may have similar…and welcome to the forums!

Try to mentally block them. That’s the only thing.
I get these kinds of disturbing thoughts and images in my mind too, especially when I am trying to sleep. Honestly, I have no idea how to make them go away. Usually, when I take care of overall mental and physical well-being, they seem to go away or at least not happen as frequently. I try to tell myself that these are the result of my brain malfunctioning and not a reflection of who I am as a person.

When I had that I never did know what to do about it. I hope you figure something out. I know it’s very upsetting.

Yeah, I’m just gonna keep on keeping on. Thats good advice though. I’ll just take good care of my self. Maybe it’ll subside.

Yes, they can be off the internet. I think that most people pull them off the internet for their payment. I know I do.
