Different brands of AP meds?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone else here noticed that some brands of meds are more effective than others? I am on clozapine and there are several different brands. I was on one called Teva and that worked great but they stopped making it. I also tried Aurobindo and that did nothing, didn’t work at all! Apparently that is manufactured in India, that may be why. I am currently on a brand called Mylan and that works well.

Yes there are differences between brands which range from subtle to more obvious.

Some workers at the pharmacy believe it’s exactly the same because they have the same working ingredient. That’s like saying that coffee and tea is exactly the same.

I don’t know what brand my clozapine is but it’s sure helped me a lot! I had to fight tooth and nail to advocate for myself to get on clozapine and it’s been great for me. Two Voices gone and a big relief from suicidal ideation.

I don’t notice… I use all varieties of abilify and it’s all okay.

I have reserved Sandoz qutiapine becsuse I feel that’s the best generic Seroquel I’ve tried. I pay 15 us dollars for this special brand from my own pocket.

In Aus, they ask you at the pharmacy if you want the generic brand or not. I’ve never had any troubles with the generic medication and it is cheaper so I take it.

It’s a placebo effect…it’s the same molecule and the same excipients…

I just feel better on that brand so I keep that and I don’t care they cost me extra

I take Clozapine also, and the brand is Clozaril. However, i don’t usually find any differences between the brands. As for cost…well i’m on the DSP and it only costs me around $5 per box.

i take clozapine and the brand is leponex. i tried to generic clozapine too but i didn’t notice much of a difference. i take the brand leponex because those come in boxes of 100 tablets.
