upon closer look you see they aren’t your friend but a total stranger? Geez. that’s embarrassing. I’ve done that more than once.

I remember this one time I was sitting in a IHOP restaurant and I swore to the heavens that my deceased grandmother was sitting a few tables over from me. I felt a sense of calm.

Yeah, a couple of times. Both of those times I even asked the guy/woman “are you …?” (+ the name of an old acquaintance whom I hadn’t seen in a long while). Got looked at very strangely each time.

I love waving to someone only to realize they’re a total stranger…
Better yet, when I believe someone is waving at me so I wave back, only to discover they were waving at someone else…

I sometimes say hello to strangers but sometimes they don’t say hello back and instead give off bad vibes which makes it uncomfortable.
I can’t always tell if someone is open to a greeting or not.

This happens to me all the time— at least several times a day.
The people where I live are quite bougie and as a result, lack common manners. It’s like they think that’s how people with money act, so they try to elevate themselves over others or something— I dunno, it’s all rather classless if you ask me.
Anyways, I usually give some form of a quick greeting, and a lot of people here don’t say shiit back.
It’s all just rude as hell and sends my paranoia spiraling.

To a degree, I don’t know how to behave in public . . .
In the SF Bay Area you just don’t say hi to people randomly.
In the Midwest you do.

Like most people have to feel they are better than you and you are beneath them to even say hello back or they act stuck up and suppressing.
Actually the powercrazed behaviour of people and need to put others down to make themselves feel better is probably main reason i isolated nowadays.
I don’t want or need to be treated that way.
Sometimes it’s just a hostile vibe.
Sometimes it’s a vibe like everyone here is included except you but i rather be alone than treated that way.
