Did anybody jump from 10mg abilify to 15mg?

What did you experience?

It helped a lot when I did. I then went up to 20 then 25. Now I’m back down to 10 because the revia/naltrexone helps so much I don’t need so much.

I didn’t experience much from 10mg to 15mg or even to 20mg. At least I can’t tell.

Thanks. I’ll probably give it a go. I’ve nothing to lose by trying I guess.

Believe I went up as high as 25mgs, but went back down to 15 mgs because I was forever tired and gaining weight.

I take klonopin so the anxiety isn’t a big deal. And I don’t believe I experience abilify induced anxiety too much. But U say u do which is what worries me about you increasing dose. But it could be helpful…

I was on 20mg and it was unbearable. 10mg I can tolerate just about. So yeah, maybe I won’t be able to tolerate 15mg. I think I’ve made up my mind to try it out though. I’ll just crawl back to 10mg if it doesn’t work out.

I was on different doses of Abilify, ranging from 15mg to I think it was 27mg for a short while.
I mainly stayed at 20 - 25mg.

You might experience better Psychosis control at 15mg.

It helped with my mood and psychosis every time I increased dose!!! I tried 30 mg for a week though and it was too much. A heavy feeling inside of me.

I don’t really have a problem with psychosis. But I’m just hoping an increase will even out my good days and bad days a bit. I feel like I’m being hammered today. Last night I felt quite good.

20mg was too much for me and maybe 10mg is too little.

I’m not super optimistic that things will get better on 15mg though. I just feel I’ve reached a point where I have to try it I think.

That’s encouraging! Thanks!

I didn’t notice a difference between 10 and 15. Pdoc won’t let me go back down to 10 now that I’m on 15.

Thanks. I’ll just have to try it and see how it affects me I guess. Maybe I’ll get lucky.

I started on 5mg then up to 10 which didn’t have much effect on my psychosis but did cause a stimulant effect. Then it was doubled to 20mg, which I tolerate well, I still have some psychotic symptoms but not as bad as before. From experience I think my psychiatrist will probably add a second AP as I have never had full control over my symptoms on any single AP, but ability is the one I’ve been able to tolerate best of all the ones I have tried (which is many). I take it in the morning as it keeps me awake if I take it at night, otherwise no significant side effects. I was compulsively gambling when I first started taking it but that may have been a symptom of irritable mania, I can’t tell for sure, but beware of compulsive behaviours as this is apparently a known side effect.

You might notice a positive difference with your mood @everhopeful.
Abilify has strong Antidepressant properties.

I’ll be seeing my psychiatrist next month and I’m going to get their advice on going to 15. I couldn’t tolerate 20mg at all which is what worries me a bit about going to 15mg.

Yeah. I think something has to change. I’m stable but little else. It would be great if it helped my mood too.

It’s a minefield isn’t it, trying to find the right balance. Slow and gradual is the key, I hope you can find a dose that suits.

Thanks! :sunny:

I started at 20 replacing Rexulti 3mg. I like the way abilify makes me feel. I’m gonna try to add on ten at night and increase it to 15 for 35 daily total. I haven’t been punished with unbearable side effects save mild nausea.
