Demons are real

What he’s trying to say is that your brain is so much more than the parts you can control, and illness can affect it like any other organ in your body. Saying that the cause of your symptoms is in your brain does not imply that it is your fault in any way (or that you are making it up).

Okay, but you cant hear the “demon” anymore, right? So you dont have to listen to him anymore, he cant bother you… And so meds are a good thing to take to deal with the problem.

Other people know more and can give you better stats , but I believe that the earlier you start treatment the better your long term prognosis, and that 20% eventually become symptom free. For me medication is the difference between being catonic and unemployable but functional enough where I can get thru the day. I can even appear normal to people I know

why not, its my brain

i think you are saying that these things just happen for no reason

i dont believe that but each to their own

for my whole life I had this male voice in my head constantly criticizing me, calling me horrible names, judging everything I did and cursing at me. One time I was reading a Pdoc’s notes and it said something about my “auditory hallucinations”. I was so mad because I was being accused of hallucinating when I wasn’t. So I hopped online and looked up auditory hallucinations and low and behold I realized I did have them.

It took awhile but it finally dawned on me that I was making those voices, that mean man in my head was actually me being mean to myself. So I told him to be nice or shut up and to this day I hardly hear from him.

I try to apply the same tactic to other voices and sometimes I can, with the help of meds, quiet things down. It’s amazing not to be berated all the time.

Maybe you can do the same thing with the demons if only you realize they are not real. Good luck!

I think the common understanding is a combination of genetics getting triggered by stress, maybe drugs, or something else that triggers you. Really you were just a time bomb from birth.

Anyone tell me if I’m wrong

Have you ever tried meds @shortcircuit?

Perhaps not an unusual belief, but definitely an unintelligent belief.

My 2 cents.

Aw great, and we were making progress :turtle:

Progress = meds as directed and ongoing therapy.

The illusion that demons are in your brain is not your fault. It’s a medical condition. Although some people may be able to “think them out” that’s not typical, and you shouldn’t beat yourself up over it any more than you would about not being able to make a basketball shot from half court, most people can’t do that either.

Meds may either make these feelings go away entirely, or they may make it so you can think through them.

Worst case, consider it like this: you have the opportunity to get the demons out. The right AP will be like fumigation for termites.

Maybe so but the meds can mask this thing called sz to the point we can live normal or closer to it. I’ve really heard of no other alternative. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to treat this desease as the voices and thoughts are foreign and unwanted and evil. Not to be followed. The problem comes when we think the voice is Devine but it’s really evil.

i think we are on the same page, when i say the demon is still there i mean it is waiting to show its ugly face again if it gets the chance.

i think the demons are lowly creatures and not devine at all,

I can also confirm that there are ways to think yourself into a powerful position where you can’t be hurt and are invincible but I have no idea how to tell anyone else how to do it.

When I say Devine i mean some people think they hear from God and can follow some really bad direction because they think they are doing the right thing. Most everything we tend to hear is negative and should be ignored

Sorry, but I would substitute the ‘thereapy’ with ‘orthomolecular nutrition.’

Can you see them in your mind or just hear them?

It might come back if you stop meds. So, don’t stop them. Or if you do, and it comes back, go back on.

Have you tried meds yet? Which, and for how long?
