Since turning 65,I’m now 68, the #dementia related questions have come into play. Why? Because I need a fair amount of support to live independently. The actual reason for that? #ASD related adaptive functioning difficulties. Adaptive functioning < intelligence. During my recent hospital stay my daughter was asked several times how long I’d been in a care home. In a separate incident she was asked how long I’d been demented, due to my not remembering the precise details of an event that occurred 30 months previously. My autobiographical memory has always sucked. There’s being sensible about #dementia and there’s the unhelpful leaping to erroneous conclusions.
