that is delusional thinking and the only thing that is good for getting rid of that is either meds, or changing or upping meds…good luck.

I don’t feel responsible for my thoughts. That’s an unrealistic standard to uphold.

This is called “thought broadcasting” and it’s a symptom of schizophrenia.

I had it when I was first hospitalised.

Meds got rid of it for me fortunately.

I’ve had the delusion EVERYONE would be capable of reading my thoughts, scary as hell. But then I realized, even while psychotic, that my thoughts aren’t that special, everyone has dark and light inside of them, and it helped me calm down a lot.

But of course, I was glad when the AP kicked in and my feet touched ground again.

Sometimes I believe my husband can read my mind and see the evil thoughts Alien puts into my head if I make eye contact with him.

I had this delusion while unmedicated it was so scary, Everytime I would see someone looking at me I thought they were reading my thoughts.

Meds are the only thing that stopped the idea.

I felt I was broadcasting my thoughts that certain other individuals in society could listen in on. I also felt at times certain people could use their mind to enter my mind and listen to my thoughts even when I wasn’t in thought broadcasting mode. I also thought I was being mind controlled.

I don’t experience this any more thanks to meds.

Would you mind sharing which medicine you are taking to help?

My antipsychotic is invega. @Ferragus

I see, I’m currently on the Invega injectable 156mg.

How long you been on it? It took a few months before it subsided.

That is a tricky question, I’ve been on the invega for years. The onset of the tinnitus came last year around October

Have you told your pdoc?

He’s aware of my tinnitus but I haven’t discussed ‘thought broadcasting’ as it is a new term to me.

Yeah definitely let him know he may need to change things up or something.

@Headspark Mind sharing which meds you take to help with the symptom?

yes unfortunately.

started several years ago. i was fine. evetything on the up and up and then i got a huge dose of telepathy and thought broadcasting. just hanging in there for now. right now its negarively psychological. normally not. 4 hours into the morning are fine.

When I was diagnosed in 2004 they put me on 40mg of Olanzapine (Zyprexa) and that worked but the side effects were atrocious, so after 15 years I started reducing my dosage, under doctors supervision, but when I got down to 10mg I became delusional. I didn’t want to increase my Olanzapine dose because of side effects. so in 2019 I switched to 60mg of Lurasidone (Latuda) and that prevented me from becoming delusional again.

Both my GP and psychiatrist had recommended Lurasidone to me, so I decided to try it and it worked out great!
