I’ve just received a summary of my recent post diagnostic(Asperger’s) appointment.
One of the things it mentions is decision making, and that due to being vulnerable I might need the help of an advocacy service to make sound decisions .
The summary mentions that I also have a dx of schizophrenia. I am wondering how others here are as to decision making , whether they have just psychosis/schizophrenia or psychosis/schizophrenia +Asperger’s/ASD
I have no problems with decision making except when I am psychotic then my decision making ability goes out the window.
^ That suggests decision making deficits with psychosis/schizophrenia are state rather than trait based . However I think that cognitive effects of p/s would have a bearing on decision making .
I’ve talked to my best friend about this. He has workers and family at the ready for help with this. They encourage him to think for himself within guidelines.
