Hawaii, most of Arizona, and some territories, have opted out of Daylight Saving Time. States can opt out of Daylight Saving Time unilaterally, but Florida is one step closer to opting out of Standard Time (this requires congressional approval).
The legislation, which Gov. Scott is expected to sign into law, is called the Sunshine Protection Act. We Floridians are hell bent on protecting our sunshine. This includes, but is not limited to, the protection of all sunshine that touches our soil or enters our air space.
Only in Florida.
