Daughter Accidently Killed Guinea Pig 10 Minutes Ago

The guinea was on the bedroom floor under a blanket and she walked in and stepped on her.

She didn’t suffer long, but my daughters are both hysterical…each blaming themselves.

It’s all a very sad event.

I gave them both long hugs and told them nobody was to blame. Man, this is a tough one.

I’m sorry for you guys. I hope they can accept that stuff just happens sometimes. Give the girls a hug from me (and go shopping for another guinea pig this weekend.)

It’s just really sad. I have a feeling they won’t ever forget this day till they’re a hundred years old.

That’s sad. Losing a pet is hard, especially in that manner. I hope your family can feel better soon.

I’m trying to make this a teachable moment about the circle of life, and the randomness of it all. But it’s very difficult right now. I’ll talk some more with my girls tomorrow when they’ve both settled down.

The kids are sleeping in our room tonight on mattresses on the floor. They’re still both crying and devastated. And I’ve given them both the day off school tomorrow.

Man, what a drag…

Oh no! Accidentally killing a pet is one of my worst nightmares. :frowning: I hope the girls will be okay soon. My condolences. Pet deaths are hard enough.

I just want to say this board is great because everyone is so supportive of @Patrick in this situation where on other boards I go on they would say some cruel things… rip guinea pig :pig2:
