Have using vape or cigarette harm your mental health or it doesn’t affect your mental health?

I am contemplating if I should quit using Vape?I find that I am sucking on it a lot but it comfort me too.I will be using patch or gum to quit or if I couldn’t will continue vaping

Nicotine affects mental health. Addictive and damaging.

I don’t know much about nicotine free vaping though. Just avoid Vitamin E fillers, they cause lung damage.

If you find you use it a lot, you may need a stronger nicotine dosage

I was trying to quit yesterday.Put a patch on,but after sleeping I woke up at 1:30am.I didn’t remove the patch though because I thought it wouldn’t affect.

I think quitting or not doesn’t make much difference, because they said if you quit a cigarette for 10 years, your lung will be back to normal.I am going to try quit cig/vape though for my mental health

Who told you nicotine is bad for health lol?
Cite me a source. Pure nicotine is harmless.
Vapes with nicotine are prescribed in the UK by doctors to stop smoking. Vaping is 95% healthier than smoking according to medical researches:

I am not saying go out and vape if you don’t smoke but if you do, vaping is 95% safer.

I am a current smoker. I did manage to quit for 4 months using nicorette mouth spray. Also tried nicotine gum, but I was more annoying and disgusting to use. Nicotine patches were overly stimulating and my sleep become unsettling. What I’ve learnt that to quit nicotine for SZ is much lower for a normies chainsmoker

Without my vape I would be binge drinking, abusing weed, cigars, shisha and cigarettes. I have stopped all these since I switched to vape last year. Nicotine is just like any diet or supplement you’re recommending and even better because its prescribed by doctors. Drs wouldn’t prescribe nicotine if it was bad for your health.

Nicotine is a known vasoconstrictor and is hard on your cardiovascular system. It’s less damaging to vape but it is still damaging.

True, nothing at all is still better and that’s what I said earlier: “I am not saying go out and vape if you don’t smoke but if you do, vaping is 95% safer.”

I can’t stop vaping because I am always bored from my negative and cognitive symptoms. Nicotine gives me some boost like caffeine.

You’re right its not harmless but still 95% safer than smoking. Nicotine is like caffeine, a stimulant.
I can’t edit my previous post :frowning:

It hurts the blood-brain barrier, causing symptoms to worsen over time. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15494156 shows that BBB permeability is increased by it.)

I don’t know, Health England gov says its 95% safer than smoking. My mother’s aunt has been smoking for over 65 years and she’s healthy and smoking is 95% is worse than vaping. There is always rare exceptions in everything.

Okay, good luck. We have to agree to disagree.

I’ve got 3mm nodes on my lungs. Whether it’s from smoking or vaping I did cold turkey.it was tough.

I think its from smoking, vaping wasn’t shown to cause cancer but can cause popcorn lung disease in rare cases.

I wish I could stop vaping and not go back to smoking and drinking at the same time.

I tried vaping at first with cheap Vaping pen and I was coughing more than on a cigar and also was getting painful tight chest. Also tried proper vape mod, it was better nut still coughed and was sucking on it more than any cigarette. Am i the only one who thinks cigarettes are much safer now? I mean quality paper now used is much better, also thick filter helps and tobacco quality improved over time. Those cancer and lung problems are a long and old story. those who smoked some dirty tobacco without filters are all dead now
