When I’m in a depressive episode the only two things that still bring me pleasure are food and orgasms.

My fixes require me to feel like I’m accomplishing something useful. Or orgasms. Orgasms fix all of my ills (almost).

money helps a lot in depression…When i am motivated i feel less depressed…!!!

Guess it could, but for me if I’m in depression, money means nothing, I could win a lottery and watch it all burn in a fire and could care less. Don’t really think there is a cure for true depression vs depression over the loss of a loved one or sad events.
I know when I get depressed it lasts for a couple of years, and nothing makes me happy at all.

Medication, I would say, and a stable environment.
Also learning to be grateful. Thats the hard part.

Faith has been very powerful in helping me overcome my depressing and suicidal thoughts.

yes, that helps sometimes too. when things aren’t too bad, they usually don’t carry-over after a good nap or sleep.

To overcome my depressing thoughts, i like to do new things, most of tdocs recommend this

also, reading a positive book. judy

yes food helps… or looking at pictures of food.

Food, coffee, reading and music and a back scratch from hubby

I find time is the great cure-all. In time things change. Of course, in depression we continually work and rework our thoughts, trying to come to come peace of mind by figuring out the equation that is making us depressed. I’m religious and I find mental debate is all a God reality - Job - a struggle with God.

A highly effective lowly used cure would be exercise.

Just get out there and do something, even adding some lunges or squats whilst cooking helps too. I’ve started doing this again as I haven’t had time for the gym.
