This could help when I’m in crisis but currently I’m good  but I’m intrigued

I’ve seen the suicide hotlines. Are there less dire (but still needed) hotlines??

Warm lines exist, but I don’t know any text based ones.

Is there one for addicts/alcoholics

Maybe I’ll start it if there is not. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I live in the US and 741-741 is a decent text line

imalive.org is a great chat line, but it’s always busy nowadays.

Apparently, I’d have to be referred out from this crisis line. I have Medicare. I don’t know if the referrals are good ones or not

The ones I posted above are free and require no insurance.

I like the Norwegian one, I think it’s sponsored by Kirkens Nødhjelp.

It’s not open during the night, and sometimes you have to wait a bit to be connected to a volunteer.
But they’re always friendly and empathetic.

I tried an English based one, but I almost had a meltdown over how frustrating it was.
They kept just repeating back to me what I’d just told them, and when I asked if they could maybe have an actual conversation with me instead, they were just like “sorry this is how we’re trained to do it”.
