Don’t stop taking your meds. You will hallucinate like a boss. That’s what happened to me.
I’m diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and I don’t hear voices.
My main one was hearing beautiful music
No voices since one year ago
I was primarily only delusional for years before I even heard voices, so yes, you can be.
Heyo!
Personally, I believe that the voices FROM OTHER PEOPLE are actually them / their thoughts, their minds…
They’re usually fairly quiet… and it seems that everyone, even the young humans and the cats / dogs, is linked into our psychic network from a VERY YOUNG AGE…
Some of us just get linked in to the psychic network at an older age, like between 17 and 29…
The voices that I hear coming from OUTSIDE my head that are NOT from other people… they are kind and generous and helpful, these days…
It’s the invasion of my brain that bothers me!! It’s getting better.
STAY ON YOUR MEDS, YES
Take an active role in researching your meds, then make suggestions to your pdoc!! (psychiatric doctor)
Please don’t flag my post as inappropriate…
It’s spiritual, and perceiving everyone as part of the same thought-stream… like the Buddhists would say, or Unity (not Unitarian); WE ARE ALL ONE!!
Be respectful and kind to your voices as if they were in the room with you, paying attention to you… if they start being rude or mean, set some limits, instead of just letting their words crush you.
I’m glad you are on clozapine. Only thing that has worked for me, and it’s paired with lithium…
lithium doesn’t just help mood… it improves memory, it helps prevent autoimmune disorders like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s and ALS (what Stephen Hawking had… may he rest in peace)… and it reduces violent crimes in cities where lithium is in the public water supply.
Just don’t give lithium to a cat.
It’s toxic to them.
Many good vibes to you !!: )
I’ve never heard voices much, my psychosis was mainly delusional.
Delusions alone are not enough for sz diagnosis. There must be 2 out of 5 criteria.
I had negative symptoms.
I have never had an official sz diagnosis from a psychiatrist, I was diagnosed with Psychosis NOS. My only current diagnosis is Avoidant Personality Disorder.
what do you mean, independent voices? Auditory hallucinations is a symptom. you say it comes from real people, but they’re not with you at the time, are they?
I was diagnosed with undifferentiated schizophrenia by one professor and with psychosis nos by one other psychiatrist.
I am on antipsychotics and antidepressants for life, so I stay alive. I get suicidal very quickly if I don’t take my medication.
Me too. I have suicidal ideation if I quit my meds.
Independent voices meaning that they come from outside and there’s no one around me. In fact, the voices that most of you hear. No, I’m hearing the voices from those around me but there’s always a situation when I believe that there is a message for me in their dialogue. Sometimes, my colleagues at work talk in English and I understand them in romanian (I’m from Romania) or it seems that the whole context when those around me speak is a tool for some supernatural forces to send me a message and I’m a sort of an Observer of their intentions.
I am hearing internal voices. Inside my head.
There’s 3 types of hallucinations that I know of: Visual, Auditory and Tactile. Having any of these are considered to be schizophrenic. Correct me if I’m wrong.
There are more types of hallucinations: of taste, smell.
I believe there are olfactory as well. I may have spelled that wrong but it is smell. I have visual auditory hallucinations. I primarily see other people and they talk to me.
I have olfactory ones.
