Could he be depressed

On the days my brother works from home , or on weekends I never see him despite him being under the same roof. Well I do , when he leaves at 6:30 for the pub and when he returns. Other than that he’s in his room the whole time. I don’t think he has a life other than that.

Try talking to your bother and get to know more. But dont talk about mental health.

Talking to him last time he was about to hurt me psychically so I called the police on him. He won’t talk about it other than how he enjoys the pub. Every photo of him is about having a drink.

Alcohol masks many things. It’s too hard to tell and it’s a problem in itself. I’m sorry you have to deal with it but the drink will change things for many people and it’s something that they won’t overcome by themselves for most.

Maybe something happened at some point, and he’s since, subconciously developed an addiction but doesn’t know nor realise what it was as clearly as someone unaffected would.

Perhaps he’s running away from something? When I was labelled substance use disorder, I was basically running away from a few problems of my own. I still do it. Sometimes, we’re prone to being this way genetically (as farfetched as that seems)

Some people needs a beer to help them socializing. Some needs a beer to forget. And are so many reason why one would drink.
You do not know his reasons, but is very good if it leaves you alone.
