Anyone gotten cold turkey with clozapine? What should I expect? Is relapse common? Is it temporary for how long?
Get some diazepam to help you cope. With me I went through hell for about a 2 weeks.
I am taking quetiapine de nata instead.
Get on some form of benzodiazepines, they help with withdrawal.
Is this a doctor authorised cold turkey?
I would not recommend it. I ran out of Clozapine for a couple weeks and it was hell. It is hard to explain, but it was horrible. Talk with your doctor.

I’m on Risperdal consta, it is not doctor ordered, I am just sick feeling stuck in my own mind; I can’t even think clearly it interferes with my work too. I didn’t visit the pdoc because she doesn’t know me much.
When I was switched from clozapine to risperidone in 2005 the pdoc put me straight away onto risperidone without weaning me off clozapine.
Well I had a severe episode - cut myself, smeared blood on the wall, laughed, wailed and screamed. Next day I was in hospital
Took a few weeks to get adjusted onto risperidone.
I’ve heard clozapine withdrawal can be bad. It certainly was for me
I didn’t sleep for a day until I was put back on half a tablet.
