Closer than ever to a cure for schizophrenia

After witnessing the mark that schizophrenia left on her twin brother’s life, neurobiologist Professor Cyndi Shannon Weickert has devoted herself to finding a cure for schizophrenia.

Growing up and studying in the United States, Prof Weickert and her husband, cognitive psychologist Dr Tom Weickert, now live in Australia, working with a team of ore than 20 scientists to find a cure for schizophrenia. They’re now closer than ever to that goal.

Listen to James O’Loghlin’s entire discussion with Prof Cyndi Shannon Weickert, Chair of Schizophrenia Research Institute, whose laboratory is based at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA).

It gets interesting at the end then she gets cut off, what a shame.

Thanks so much for sharing this thread.

To cure me, someone has to make them leave me alone, thats the cure.

Otherwise there won’t be a cure.

Because the problem doesn’t originate in my brain.
