CBT and delusions

In my therapy, my counselor says we are doing cbt for my so called delusions. The only exercise we do is for me to write down what I’m worried about, and then to write several things that are positive about it. I can never find the positives. If it was positive and happy I wouldn’t be worried about it. This cbt thing doesn’t help me at all. The exercise is the only one I do and the only thing I can talk about in therapy. Does it help you?

I’ve never tried that technique,

But CBT has helped immensely.

Stick with it, there may be other things you can learn that would be more beneficial.

If you can take the time to really think things thru and find the positives it might alleviate worries and counter some delusions. I find if I really stretch it I can find positives to just about anything and try to hold onto that. Even memories to very hard things that have happened to me the positives would be that’s over and what did I learn from it, stuff like that.

That’s good that you’ve been able to come up with positives like that. I’m really struggling with it.
