Car driving slowly by my house

I was sitting on the couch, looking out my window, and I saw a sketchy looking car drive by my house going very slowly. The windows were tinted so I couldnt see if the person driving was looking at my house or if there were multiple people in it.

What if they were scoping out my house to see if its a good house to break into? I wish I wasnt looking outside. Im a bit paranoid now.

Can someone talk some sense in to me?

Maybe report it to the police :police_car::rotating_light:?

Nah. They would probably be mad at me for wasting their time.

I was afraid of the same thing back in 2014 when I was first sick. If you’re not involved in drugs or gangs there’s almost zero chance anyone is after you

Yeah i’m not involved in drugs or gangs. I keep myself out of trouble.

Just gotta remind myself that my Sz makes me paranoid and that everything is alright. The car could be driving slowly to find a persons house that they have a relationship with. Or the person could be distracted by their phone and driving slowly because of that.

Ye… this use to bother me too. It’s probably nothing to worry about. Your mind is the one to focus on lol

I deal with this day in day out. I sit on my couch and watch the neighborhood from my window, wondering who is spying on me or why a particular car went past my house or why the cable truck is parked outside for an hour. Stuff like that. If I am not careful these thoughts will spiral me downwards into my next delusion or bring up one from a few years ago.

I remind myself that nothing has happened so far. I am safe, and these are only paranoid thoughts and I need to get back on my treadmill or find something to occupy my mind. It usually works.

I think your neighbours have an eye at your home if somebody breaks in @TheCanuk

They were probably either looking for a particular house of someone they knew or they’re doing what I’ve previously done: scoping out a neighborhood before buying a home there.

Seriously, before moving into new places, I drive slowly up and down the streets of the neighborhood checking it out.

I want to know is it safe? Are there children/young families? Do the people there take care of their properties ? Is it near gas stations? Grocery stores?

I really think you’re safe.

Thanks everyone. I’m feeling more calm now. Once I wake up tomorrow and no ones broken in, i’ll feel even better.

Probably helps that I took 10 mg Olanzapine early. Will take the other 10 mg before bed.

It could also be an inspector for the city or neighborhood making sure the properties are following local ordinances etc

Probably just a coincidence.

Nothing to worry about man.

It’s probably nothing.

There was a shady looking guy that walked down my street about 4 times in about a 10 minute frame the other day. Pretty sure nothing came of it. Probably the same in your case

Well I made it through the night and no one broke into my house.

I know how you feel I had a car standing parked outside of my apartment it looked suspicious(probably just for me). Cause I saw it in the same spot days in a row. No-one has attacked me or broken in… it was just paranoia
