I feel trapped at home suddenly. Just wasting away on my couch. I don’t know how to push past this.
Maybe tomorrow you’ll feel more motivated to leave the house. Personally, I don’t like going outside when it’s too cold or too hot. I get dizzy.
Does anyone know how to push past this?
personally i make a list of small 5 minute tasks like hygiene, doing 10 pushups/situps etc etc that are super easy to do . i have like 50 items and i feel way better when i get these small tasks done throughout the day. A mile is just 1000 steps.
It sounds stupidly simple, but when I’m paralyzed with inertia and I think of something I need/want to do, I JUMP UP and do it while the idea is fresh in my mind. If I take any time, I’ll start analyzing the thought and then I’m gone for another stretch.
Yup. All on autopilot. Works when necessary.
Sometimes I pick a time 5 minutes away, and say I’ll get up at this time. And then I throw myself out of the chair, off the couch, whatever, at that time.
Sometimes you can’t. You’ll just get more stressed trying to push past it.
For example today I so badly would like to do some programming but I can’t seem to get myself to even go on the computer.
So far I slept till noon, sat on the couch ate some noodles someone made, drank an energy drink, and a big coffee. Now I’m back in bed lol.
I just took 2 propranolol cuz I was getting anxious that I’m not able to do much right now.
I was the same yesterday.
It’ll pass though. You will have better days.
On your good days just get out and do stuff. Do anything on the good days. Go for a walk see the birds or something
One of the strategies for defeating task procrastination is to break things up into very small steps or easiest task first.
Which works if your brain is operating decently.
Like if I was procrastinating on doing some math activity I would start with 2+2 because 2+2 is very easy.
But when I have avolition it’s hard to even get to that point.
I’ve tried sk hard to get off my ass but nothing worked until I just snapped out of my mood
I ended up taking a shower and that feels like a victory
Hey good job. Self hygiene is important
I already told you this elsewhere, but others should see it and chime in.
I’m very proud of you. I know it was a hard decision, but it was the right one. You got this!
I’m an animal of habit… I just have routines engraved so i can do things without thinking
