I hope I did a good job the past almost 18 years, I at least did ok, he was never abused neglected or hungry. But soon he can vote and stuff. It is so hard to believe. I hope he is a good man, kind to everyone as he can be, goes to college and finds a good job. That’s my hope. My younger son who is 9 signed up to join the band to play the saxophone, and with him there is a long ways to go to adulthood. They are both good boys I am blessed. My daughter who is 25 I am bringing home for two weeks from her placement this weekend will be good to see her haven’t seen her since beginning of July. It was different when she turned 18 than with my son who I at least hope never gets in trouble and is a good kind man. He tells me I handle my issue well and he is not embarassed of me at all and that I do appreciate to hear. lord knows I try…
My youngest child (of four) turned 18 last Dec and graduated from HS this last summer. She wentthrough some really tough times from 14-16 yrs old…which means I did too.
but now she is a real good girl. I can understand your desires for you rson to grow to be a good man and kind. as parents all we can do is do our very best as we can with the tools we haave in raising our offspring and hope that they retain all the good stuff we taught them.
They are going to go off and make mistakes and it’s hard to watch sometimes. But now is the time you relax a bit and watch them develop into young adults developing lives of their own. and pray real hard.
When your kids are small-it seems like they will never grow up–but it DOES! And where did the last 18 years go?
