Yea and if you want the froth there is a electric device that you put in the cup to make froth, it costs a few dollars.

I have a generic coffee machine that I fill with ground coffee, then I add semi skimmed milk and put it in the microwave for 3 minutes. It froths up and everything.

I used to have an espresso machine. I made lattes, espressos, cappachinos, it was nice. I think the machine was $150. But you save that much over time.

For lattes you don’t really need an espresso machine. And the consumer espresso machines don’t make good espresso anyway. Just buy a stovetop espresso maker and a proper milk steamer and learn how to use the steamer correctly. Lattes are mostly milk and you don’t need highly concentrated espressos, so don’t waste your money on an espresso machine.

If you wanted a good cappuccino your only real option would be to buy one at a good coffee place.

I probably make three or four a day, wife and kid are addicted as well.

So much cheaper to make than buy.

Not the cheap ones. Don’t buy a cheap one.

I’ve tried the expensive ones and I’ve worked as a barista. The consumer machines make decent espresso, but not quality espresso. But for a latte, buying an espresso machine is a waste of money when you could just use an espresso pot. The milk steamer is still essential though.

I like my crema. I would put my Breville up against higher end units as it generates the correct heat and pressure for a good pull.
