Can someone tell me what happened with Glycine and seroquel together : S

a few years ago i decided to add Glycine from vital nutrients to my seroquel XR i was on 150 mg XR

on normal seroquel i get tachardia above 225 mg, that last an hour.

i was on 150 mg XR and i took 1 spoon of glycine, after 30 minutes my heart started to race like hell for 4 hours, i should had called 911 i was dying my heart was in ultra overdrive…

I do not know how i survived this, this is why i am scared to try Sarcosine from profrontal i will be taking 1 mg and NAC

but i didn’t have this with 50 mg seroquel XR and glycine, just when i upped my seroquel to 150 mg XR my heart started to go in overdrive for 4 hours… this happened year ago…

I take abilify maintena 400 mg injection, the max dose, but i dont think this will affect Sarcosine and NAC from profrontal, seroquel is just dangerous on higher doses with Glycine medications

Please give me some pro advice, i am very serious, this info might help other people in distress

I am in bad shape with negative and cognitive symptoms

Sarcosine from profrontal is my only hope at this moment. I need to start treatment asap…

Is Sarcosine and NAC safe with injection of abilify and klonopin 1 mg twice daily? i will ditch the seroquel safely

I searched and found no known interactions, maybe it’s more rare, just don’t take it together, it’s probably for the best.

Talk to your pdoc about it.

Sarcosine and Glycine impact your body / brain in almost identical ways - they both target the NMDA receptors of the brain (sarcosine gets converted into glycine in your body, is my probably oversimplistic understanding).

So - if you had a bad reaction to Glycine, It seems to me that you would probably will get the same reaction from sarcosine. I wouldn’t take either glycine, sarcosine or D-serine (also closely related) if I had that reaction.

more info:

“Sarcosine’s main mechanism involves inhibiting a transporter, called GlyT1, which takes up glycine and D-serine into cells. This increases the levels of glycine and D-serine in the body and increases their effects.”

Generally Glycine is very well tolerated - so if you did have a bad effect its something to be careful about:

Is 400 mg really the max dose for Maintena? That’s what I’m on and I wonder how they determined that’s how much I need since they never started low and upped my dose. How do they determine that when you first start having psychosis? It can’t be based on weight.

it is not glycine that is giving you the tachardia, it is the Seroquel. This is a well known side effect of it. I also get seroquel 150mg and have to take a betablocker. But i will further reduce my dosis of Seroquel in order to get rid of the tachardia.

Ok Let me explain it to you again, : )

Seroquel gives me 1 hour tachardia when i take high dose like you
BUT when i took Glycine with it, it lasted for 4 hours before it stopped it almost killed me.

that’s the issue here, just be carefull!

It gives me tachycardia too for a while sometimes. It’s scary like my heart is thumping out of my chest.

My doc doesn’t seem concerned. It he is very chilled and it scares me.

it’s dangerous i took it 6 months and every night before bedtime they gave me 600 mg of normal seroquel
that pdoc abused me, don’t take seroquel high dose!

it has a QT prolongation of 12 ms seroquel, not on low doses

normal seroquel it starts at 225 mg
Seroquel XR 200 mg you can get tachardia

i used to take 150mg XR and didnt get these tachardia but i got sinus painfully near death attacks very scary

I take 300mg immediate release seroquel morning and night. I take sarcosine and haven’t noticed any tachycardia.

Saying that when I took glycine it kinda felt like I had taken some sort of stimulant.

yes i just think when you have tachardia from seroquel or any other med, do not combine, if you’re not sensitive to it with a med
