Can Seroquel XR contribute to or cause long term eye issues?

So for background I haven’t taken this medication for a couple years, I got off of it because it caused severe health problems and I was on 900mg XR so I was exhausted all the time. I still have a resting heart rate of 100 (it was 150 when I was on the medication) but other than that most of the issues subsided when I got off of it.

I had 20/20 vision my whole life. Other than Duane’s syndrome in my left eye and a lazy eye, my eyes were great. Within a few months of Seroquel, my eyesight started to blur and I had to get glasses. Increasingly over a few years, I developed a blind spot in my left eye (opposite side of the Duane’s). Even after getting off the medication a few years ago my script continues to get worse every year and the blind spot has now eliminated half the vision in one of my eyes. It’s really scary because no specialist can tell me what’s happening and they never seem concerned about it. Literally my visual field tests are half empty, I’ve just lost vision.

Because there was a correlation between this beginning and Seroquel, could one be caused by the other? Just wondering if anyone has experienced eye issues from meds or if they are probably unrelated. Thanks in advance! Sorry for being longwinded I just wanted some opinions.

I’ve been on Seroquel 400 x 2 daily for over a decade, and the little eye trouble I’ve had I don’t think is in any way related to Seroquel. For a while I didn’t think the Seroquel was doing anything to me, until I didn’t get it for five days. I got more jittery than I cared to be. The same med can affect different people differently, though. If you strongly feel that Seroquel is affecting your eyesight you might want to get it checked out.
