I read people get restless (pace). I get that at times but not often. Can the mind get akathesia (restless)? I feel like my mind has akathesia and that it kicked in a few hours ago.
It could be racing thoughts. Or disorganized thinking.
My shot caused it though, I think. Unless I was slipping (in other ways) and the shot just didn’t start working yet?
It could be that, or just a relapse of certain symptoms
I’ll never break free from this ■■■■. At least I’m taking my meds
Yeah, I feel you. I’m struggling with knowing what’s real and what’s not.
I hope it gets better for you. I don’t feel capable of anything, I don’t know when distinguishing stuff will get better but whatever
I’m restless on my meds. I don’t always stand still. I like my thought life- many and varied. I pace a lot I like it- my exercise. My grandfather used to march around the house to get his exercise. He was a doctor in the first world war.
@John_Raven do you have any idea if prn Klonopin would help?
I don’t know, but it might. I would ask my pdoc first.
Okay, gotya… Well I have it for panic attacks, I can take it whenever just wasn’t sure if this was the situation I should. I might just take more at night so I sleep
I read online that some consider restless mind to be part of akathisia, also. I did a lot of research on it when a different med was causing it to happen to a serious degree.
Ok, would cogentin help? I haven’t taken that in years
Yes because I got when I took Haldol. It made my mind restless I couldn’t sleep, I would get nightmares
Thanks for letting me know
It’s hard to find coping skills when the mind has taken off on you
Either cogentin or propranalol probably, I’m currently on propranalol for my akathisia. I have been on cogentin before, they both seem to help a little.
Ok, thank you! 151515
Sheesh this is me to a T, " Other symptoms include feeling irritable, stressed, impatient, or panicked. You may feel like jumping out of your skin" I need to get on something to control it
Well I just looked on the treatment and I’m already on mirtazapine and Klonopin. So maybe it will go away
I took cogentin and klonopin since Tuesday when I got my shot. When invega wears off a little I don’t need cogentin.
