Can it make you crazy?

While sleep is absolutely necessary and good, too much sleep from chemicals( medicine used to treat mental illness )does make you more psychotic. Have you found this true? I find my mind goes out of control.

Fortunately for me my current medications only make me a little sleepy. Without medicine I cannot sleep well, I have almost always been that way since the onset of my illness.

My libido did return when I refused to take my meds at age 17 and it stayed with me when I took it again and had the only romantic relationship I ever had. It’s complicated though: it was probably why I was able to restrain my sex drive and then there’s the fact I had never had much of one my entire life which would come as a big surprise to my ex girlfriend. There are things I will never tell her to preserve her memory of me.

I find the more sleep the better. Without enough sleep I get symptoms. That’s why I left my house with my wife. She wouldn’t let me sleep.

That doesn’t sound right. Why wouldn’t she let you sleep?

My wife has severe insomnia and has no schedule. For sleep or meals. She doesn’t like to be alone. If she would just call someone or watch tv when I am sleeping we would be fine.

But she tries to keep me up and it causes fights because I don’t like to stay up. She made me wait until 930 to go to sleep at home. But even then she usually won’t let me sleep.

At my moms house I go to sleep at 730 and still wake up at the same time.

My wife can go for days without sleep. And when she does sleep it’s only for a few hours.

I used to go in my own room and lay against the door so she couldn’t get in but she took the door off the hinges. But before I left I did put the door back in case I ever go back. I don’t think she had figured that out yet. She doesn’t go uostairs much.

Yeah. It’s unfortunate. We have been together about 34 years. Next February would be our 30th wedding anniversary.

I’m surprised she wouldn’t let you sleep and that she was aggressive about it. I hope everything goes well for you.

Sounds like she could be undiagnosed bipolar or something. I get irrational and don’t sleep when I’m off my limotrigine.

I think for some people medications can make things worse. I mean if you read the phamplet in the medication box it’s as long as my arm with potential side effects, including alzheimers and confusion.

The system doesen’t seem to focus on getting people off drugs. It’s just get people on drugs and then you are neutralized and not a problem anymore and the doctors forget about you.

I’m not against drugs though. If a person is psychotic it’s usually the only way. But if you want to get off them all the initiative is on you.

I had sleep issues for decades until Yesterday
all my troubles seems so far.away and.i.finally

Hydroxizine knocks me out for at least 12 hours at a time. If you’re having issues getting to sleep try that. The only issue is there is a happy medium for everything and when I take hydroxizine I get too much sleep and feel groggy when I wake up. It was prescribed to me for anxiety but man that drug is strong for sleep.
